The supporters of Ujina booed when Sewell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filomeno Waddington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naelio Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timeteo Pumaraboli in the 45th minute of play. Ujina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remigio Pulgar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remigio Pulgar to make the kick off. Remigio Pulgar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naelio Romo having to interfere. Gerard Izarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sewell's zone, Albert Lopetegui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Naelio Romo came out of the goal and Albert Lopetegui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naelio Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Izarra in the 68th minute of play. The supporters of Sewell booed when Ujina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Angel Gatica didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Remigio Pulgar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gualberto Zamudio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naelio Romo having to interfere. Ujina's Gerard Izarra got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Gerard Izarra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ujina's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerard Izarra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Naelio Romo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gerard Izarra sped through Sewell's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Naelio Romo. Ujina's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
