Jonatan Altamirano spun around in front of the goal 9 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Colo-Colo's goal. Serafín Aramburu hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Fulco Lafferte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Higuerta AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulco Lafferte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Mario Alberto Bermejo came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Colo-Colo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Alberto Bermejo couldn't finish the play. Abdul Requena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Lucero in the 17th minute of play. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Rigoberto Garriga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abdul Requena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Lucero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jonatan Altamirano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, Higuerta AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulco Lafferte to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Lucero in the 37th minute of play forced Higuerta AFC's goalkeeper Abdul Requena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Serafín Aramburu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Higuerta AFC's Abdul Requena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Lucero in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Higuerta AFC's Severino Ovalle got a free kick in the 45th minute. Serafín Aramburu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Colo-Colo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Higuerta AFC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Lucero to make the kick off. After 60th play minutes Fulco Lafferte shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Rigoberto Garriga and just under the crossbar into goal. 68 minutes into the game, Estebano Ledea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colo-Colo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Higuerta AFC the free kick. In the 68th minute, Estebano Ledea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Rigoberto Garriga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fulco Lafferte. After 73 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Arellano. Serafín Aramburu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Abdul Requena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Diego Lucero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Higuerta AFC's Angelillo Espinace got a free kick in the 95th minute.
