After recieving a nice pass, Francia's Norino Castañeda tried to score from far away in the 9th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 12 minutes of play, Francia's Eduardo Acharan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guillermo Vache was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sergi Balmaceda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Jose Maria Cavareda made a huge save. 22 minutes in the game, Sergi Balmaceda fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jose Maria Cavareda having to interfere. Paco Gabler struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Guillermo Vache didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Francia. Demesio Le Fort received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Guillermo Vache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guillermo Vache breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the game, one of Escuela Superior:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After having played for 46 minutes, Eduardo Acharan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Francia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Acharan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andy Paillemil to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Paco Gabler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 53 minutes, Andy Paillemil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Escuela Superior and the Francia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paco Gabler hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Demesio Le Fort fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Vache having to interfere. In the 59th minute Andy Paillemil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Maria Cavareda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Vache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Acharan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Demesio Le Fort had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teofilio Santana during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
