An unexpectedly hard shot by Nahuel Sirens in the 3rd minute of play forced Matau's goalkeeper Demesio Canal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leopoldo Ayarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clemencín Balbontín took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Almonacid, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rómulo Cordoba fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matau's protests and gave Rómulo Cordoba a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Matau's Rómulo Cordoba got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute, Matau's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nahuel Sirens fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Haroldo Almonacid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemencín Balbontín having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Haroldo Almonacid cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Clemencín Balbontín was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Haroldo Almonacid struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Clemencín Balbontín didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matau. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Leopoldo Ayarza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matau's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Ayarza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemencín Balbontín breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Haroldo Almonacid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Unión Pichilemu's zone, Leopoldo Ayarza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemencín Balbontín came out of the goal and Leopoldo Ayarza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Demesio Canal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raúlo Encalada in the 35th minute. Raúlo Encalada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demesio Canal having to interfere. Haroldo Almonacid struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Clemencín Balbontín didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matau. In the 43rd minute, Rigoberto Massú hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Haroldo Almonacid came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Matau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Almonacid couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Haroldo Almonacid to make the kick off. Clemencín Balbontín came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Matau's Haroldo Almonacid. But to his dismay, Haroldo Almonacid quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Matau's Haroldo Almonacid in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Unión Pichilemu's goalie prevented a goal. In the last second Clemencín Balbontín throw himself and got hold of the ball when Haroldo Almonacid in the 62ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Unión Pichilemu's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Haroldo Almonacid scored to the left of an out of position Clemencín Balbontín, making the score, 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clemencín Pinto during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Unión Pichilemu's Clemencín Pinto got a free kick in the 67th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Matau's Plácido Asencio tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Leopoldo Ayarza fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matau's protests and gave Leopoldo Ayarza a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Matau got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Ayarza. Leonides Dueñas hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Clemencín Balbontín showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Almonacid, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Adrián Alert was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
