Spectators: 6694 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Belmiro Riveros might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan Cifuentes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Alberto Portusagasti was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Isaiás Cabrito. Carlos Alberto Portusagasti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mónico Garbiso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mónico Garbiso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Alberto Portusagasti made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Vasco Marholz sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Belmiro Riveros made a kick off. If Vasco Marholz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mónico Garbiso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Portusagasti having to interfere. Juan Cifuentes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Riveros, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute Mónico Garbiso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Portusagasti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Riveros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Mónico Garbiso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Alberto Portusagasti was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 3-0 became the score in the 76th minute when Mónico Garbiso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Sevilla Fc booed when Chanco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Carlos Arizmendi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sevilla Fc were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Chanco's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cerilo Azcue took the corner. Sevilla Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Arellano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sevilla Fc's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
