With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicanor Aguila in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelino Cacho saved Choquelimpie from getting behind. In the 32nd match minute, Choquelimpie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Baros to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Choquelimpie's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Aguila came free, but Angelino Cacho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelino Cacho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Aguila, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Angelino Cacho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdón Lisboa's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Rafael Aldea kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Chiapa's Abdón Lisboa got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 51st match minute, Chiapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavi Tuñon to maneuver through the defense. Angelino Cacho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdón Lisboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 56 minutes, Santiago Porras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Choquelimpie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Porras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Dante Burgos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. In the 62nd minute, Dante Burgos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Choquelimpie's goalkeeper Angelino Cacho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Enrico Hardy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odón Abarca, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Nicanor Aguila might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelino Cacho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicanor Aguila ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the game, Rafael Villanueva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chiapa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Choquelimpie the free kick. Rafael Villanueva hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
