The supporters of Huachipato booed when Belgrano CBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Solminihac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulino Mellibosky showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Brizuela, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some careless play in the Belgrano CBA defense, Ernesto Daniel Hoefler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leopoldo Jacinto Tejo. The Belgrano CBA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leopoldo Jacinto Tejo should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Belgrano CBA's Amador Brizuela got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Thomas in the 95th minute of play forced Huachipato's goalkeeper Paulino Mellibosky to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Amador Brizuela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulino Mellibosky saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Candido Thomas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulino Mellibosky having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Huachipato walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
