The audience was convinced that Natalio Loyola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esteban Eyzaguirre was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. If Enmanuel Armanet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Narcomillo Morandé was the one to do the kick off. Baldomero Ostermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 82 minutes, Narcomillo Morandé managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiquina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narcomillo Morandé was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Natalio Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute Narcomillo Morandé shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Eyzaguirre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiquina's Narcomillo Morandé got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esteban Eyzaguirre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narcomillo Morandé, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiquina's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
