Igon Peluchonneaus short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Abraham Mauad to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tutuquen AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Eulalio Echenique scored to the left of an out of position Abraham Mauad, making the score, 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Eulalio Echenique dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Abraham Mauad, 2-0. If Eulalio Echenique had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Abraham Mauad managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Universidade Católica's Igon Peluchonneau fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Christiano Obanos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Abraham Mauad skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodosio Arco during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teodosio Arco kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Abraham Mauad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Echenique, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Universidade Católica's Eulalio Echenique got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute Hermelando Oses shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abraham Mauad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tutuquen AFC's zone, Christiano Obanos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abraham Mauad came out of the goal and Christiano Obanos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Universidade Católica booed when Tutuquen AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodosio Arco didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
