The supporters of Marqueza booed when Aoni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nastasio Losada didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Marqueza's zone, Agustín Lois stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manuel Gaymer came out of the goal and Agustín Lois tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Manuel Gaymer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Giron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Juan Alfonso Rabe kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manuel Gaymer. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. Nastasio Losada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Manuel Gaymer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Lois in the 33rd minute. Agustín Lois blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manuel Gaymer having to make a save. If Moisés Hormann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Juan Alfonso Rabe came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Aoni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Alfonso Rabe couldn't finish the play. Siluna Henríquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Soriano Codina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marqueza's Cecilio Losada got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacob Giron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Marqueza's Victoro Manosalva got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 57th match minute, Marqueza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliverio Andrada to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Nazario Unquera in the 58th minute of play forced Marqueza's goalkeeper Pedro Manuel Gaymer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Juan Alfonso Rabe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aoni's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Alfonso Rabe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manuel Gaymer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Marqueza's zone, Nastasio Losada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat.
