Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Evaristo Delano started the match with the kick off. When Jose Ramon Villamayor came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Contuy AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose Ramon Villamayor couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juanjo Cruchaga got free with Rómulo Erazo in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aldo Pino hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Evaristo Delano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 12 minutes on the clock, Orlín Rivadeneira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When Alfonso Gafo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Contuy AFC's protests and gave Alfonso Gafo a yellow card for diving instead. Alfonso Gafo hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juanjo Cruchaga in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rómulo Erazo saved Contuy AFC from getting behind. In the 20th minute Miquel Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rómulo Erazo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Contuy AFC's Jose Ramon Villamayor broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rómulo Erazo made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Juanjo Cruchaga sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Rere booed when Contuy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Ander Fenner didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Miquel Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the game, Mannuel Herzl cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rómulo Erazo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Taurino Poblete charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Taurino Poblete the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Rere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taurino Poblete to maneuver through the defense. Rómulo Erazo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taurino Poblete, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. The Rere fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Rere's Juanjo Cruchaga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 66th minute, Alfonso Gafo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taurino Poblete in the 68th minute of play forced Contuy AFC's goalkeeper Rómulo Erazo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Contuy AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Evaristo Delano hit a great ball. A collision led to Rere getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Taurino Poblete hit a great ball. Rere's Diego Marrodan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Rere from getting a goal against them. Rómulo Erazo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miquel Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Jose Ramon Villamayor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Marrodan having to interfere. Jose Ramon Villamayor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Taurino Poblete had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rómulo Erazo. Contuy AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Taurino Poblete was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Rómulo Erazo came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Rere's Juanjo Cruchaga. But to his dismay, Juanjo Cruchaga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1.
