A collision led to Deportivo Mérida getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Lander Solabarrieta hit a great ball. Pío Popelaire came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by EL CARRUCHERO FC's Francisco Miguel Izquierdo. But to his dismay, Francisco Miguel Izquierdo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Miguel Izquierdo in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pío Popelaire saved Deportivo Mérida from getting behind.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Miguel Izquierdo made a kick off. If Amancio Rumie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 53rdth minute of the game Francisco Miguel Izquierdo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Mérida's Pío Popelaire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Cristóbal Bettini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Gustavo Asmussen, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Francisco Miguel Izquierdo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pío Popelaire. Francisco Miguel Izquierdo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Francisco Miguel Izquierdo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Pío Popelaire 70 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Carlos Gustavo Asmussen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mérida's goalkeeper Pío Popelaire had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Miguel Izquierdo. 84 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mérida's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Miguel Izquierdo came free, but Pío Popelaire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Castañeda kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Francisco Miguel Izquierdo took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Pío Popelaire to make any attempt to save it.
