But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Irizar couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rigoberto Arcangel got free with Héctor Maier in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abdul Isaguirre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Irizar, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Apolo Rojo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. D.C United Lampa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Farellones the free kick. Apolo Rojo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Héctor Maier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kubilay Türkyılmaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Abdul Isaguirre came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Farellones's Robert Irizar. But to his dismay, Robert Irizar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 25th minute, Teodosio Iglesias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Irizar in the 28th minute of play forced D.C United Lampa's goalkeeper Abdul Isaguirre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hilario Quiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. D.C United Lampa's Abdul Isaguirre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Quiroz in the 32nd minute of play. If Christian Del Campo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rigoberto Arcangel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Héctor Maier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Kubilay Türkyılmaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Apolo Rojo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Héctor Maier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Arcangel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Héctor Maier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rigoberto Arcangel went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the D.C United Lampa players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
