The referee ignored U de Chile F.C.'s protests and gave Henrico Bettini a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of cartagonova booed when U de Chile F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrico Bettini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Maschke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Pulido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. When Leoncio Canto came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the U de Chile F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leoncio Canto couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henrico Bettini to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of U de Chile F.C. booed when cartagonova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariano Triviño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inocente Lasa hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Eustacio Saldés's late challenge caught a U de Chile F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustacio Saldés helped the player get up and apologised. Ariano Triviño scored 2-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eugenio Pulido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rdth minute of the game Ariano Triviño who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U de Chile F.C.'s Eugenio Pulido was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, U de Chile F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ariano Triviño came free, but Eugenio Pulido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Huaiquiman kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Eugenio Pulido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ariano Triviño, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Eugenio Pulido breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ariano Triviño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of U de Chile F.C.'s supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. U de Chile F.C. may have spent more time on the ball, but cartagonova were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
