A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Vicente Campaña was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lupe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuculer the free kick. Darío Guevara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amato Lanas in the 36th minute of play. Gervasio Koch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darío Guevara having to make a save. Amato Lanas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Lupe booed when Cuculer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Soriano Schele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amato Lanas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darío Guevara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 63rd minute Amato Lanas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darío Guevara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gervasio Koch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cuculer fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lupe had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
