The audience was convinced that Vinicio Gorostizaga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cresenciano Rio was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. The supporters of Negrete booed when Pamputa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Hasche didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Honorio Aulestia put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cresenciano Rio. Cresenciano Rio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Gorostizaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinicio Gorostizaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Cresenciano Rio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Wittemberg hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Negrete's Cresenciano Rio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Aulestia in the 32nd minute of play. Vinicio Gorostizaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pietro Parraguez's late challenge caught a Pamputa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pietro Parraguez helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabricio Sierra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabricio Sierra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Pamputa's Vinicio Gorostizaga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cresenciano Rio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Negrete's Justo Arnault nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juan Miguel Lasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Negrete's Cresenciano Rio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Aulestia in the 63rd minute of play. Pamputa's Juan Jesus Baesler got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vinicio Gorostizaga struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Cresenciano Rio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pamputa. Cresenciano Rio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Honorio Aulestia went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Cresenciano Rio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Gorostizaga in the 75th minute of the match. Vinicio Gorostizaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cresenciano Rio having to interfere. In the 78th minute Honorio Aulestia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cresenciano Rio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cresenciano Rio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorio Aulestia in the 81st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Negrete's Inocente Lecuna got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Honorio Aulestia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 played minutes Negrete got a freekick which was hit by Pietro Parraguez. Vinicio Gorostizaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Cresenciano Rio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th play minute Brian Davanzo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cresenciano Rio. 1-4. When Honorio Aulestia came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Pamputa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorio Aulestia couldn't finish the play. Pamputa played a much better game than Negrete and deserved their victory. The Negrete players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
