Rodeito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Guamanga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fidel Ipinza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Leal having to interfere. Fidel Ipinza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hugo Leal came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rodeito FC's Fidel Ipinza. But to his dismay, Fidel Ipinza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Luis Jorge to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Luis Jorge in the 57th minute of play forced Rodeito FC's goalkeeper Román Harriet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 played minutes, Rodeito FC's Elías Palamara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hugo Leal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rodeito FC reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Quirihue's zone, Inocencio Guamanga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Leal came out of the goal and Inocencio Guamanga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Enrico Torrijo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Quirihue's Hugo Leal got control of the ball when Fidel Ipinza tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fidel Ipinza got free with Hugo Leal in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
