After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Danilo Quintano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ferrando Leal came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Chinchin's Val Portes. But to his dismay, Val Portes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roque Noriega to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Genaro Jullian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universidad Catolica's supporters rose to their feet, but Genaro Jullian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Universidad Catolica's Ferrando Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantino Pastene in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th minute, Val Portes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Val Portes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Ferrando Leal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Universidad Catolica's Ignacio González got a free kick in the 72nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Roque Noriega got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 79th minute, Universidad Catolica's Ignacio González seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ignacio González the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Universidad Catolica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ignacio González had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 87th minute Val Portes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferrando Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Chinchin's Constantino Pastene sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ferrando Leal narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
