Donato Pedraza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermenegildo Gazitúa in the 21st minute of play. If Hermenegildo Gazitúa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Pedraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tancredo Ibáñez in the 25th minute of the match. After 33 played minutes Concepcion got a freekick which was hit by Hilario Dagnino. Donato Pedraza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tancredo Ibáñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Hermenegildo Gazitúa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Pedraza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermenegildo Gazitúa to make the kick off. The referee gave Salamanca a penalty, 99 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Edmundo Oses, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Concepcion's Donato Pedraza. 1-2. The Concepcion fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Salamanca were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
