After a defensive mix-up in Tulahuen's zone, Eric Daudet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Adriazola came out of the goal and Eric Daudet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Efraín Castex received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Demesio Mac Rostie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tulahuen's Efraín Castex in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zapiga's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 18 minutes, Silvio Zubelzu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tulahuen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Zubelzu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernando Adriazola didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvio Zubelzu in the 26th minute of play forced Zapiga's goalkeeper Demesio Mac Rostie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efraín Castex fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demesio Mac Rostie having to interfere. Baldomero Segovia's late challenge caught a Zapiga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Efraín Castex fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demesio Mac Rostie having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Zapiga's goal looked a bit too open when Silvio Zubelzu came free, but Demesio Mac Rostie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paco Perochena to make the kick off. Efraín Castex scored 1-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Demesio Mac Rostie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paco Perochena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Adriazola having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Zapiga's Paco Perochena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Adriazola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Efraín Castex could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Demesio Mac Rostie made a huge save. 2-3 became the score in the 90th minute when Efraín Castex elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Zapiga supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tulahuen's performance. The match ended with a win for Tulahuen.
