Manuel Saul took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabián Lyon. Fabián Lyon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Chillaiza FC defense, Virgilio Turpin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabián Lyon. The Chillaiza FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabián Lyon should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Tiquel AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ezequiel Catrileo hit a great ball. Leopoldo Hormeño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Amenábar having to interfere. Fabián Lyon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Turpin, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Rodolfo Cornez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes, Rodolfo Cornez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chillaiza FC and the Tiquel AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Chillaiza FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Cornez. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo Hormeño stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Hormeño cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mariano Amenábar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Amenábar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odol Zamorano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Saul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Fabián Lyon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgilio Turpin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabián Lyon having to interfere. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tiquel AFC's goalkeeper Mariano Amenábar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Odol Zamorano in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mariano Amenábar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 79 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Hormeño had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mariano Amenábar. Tiquel AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leopoldo Hormeño was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 87 played minutes Tiquel AFC got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Maccioni. Leopoldo Hormeño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Amenábar having to interfere. Mariano Amenábar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Hormeño, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Odol Zamorano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
