The Marcelino Mata was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Washington Solminihac cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marcelino Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelino Mata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benedicto Badal's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Romildo Honores shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rolando Barrenechea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute Washington Solminihac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andreo Ruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cauquenes AFC's Benedicto Badal got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 57 minutes, Benedicto Badal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cauquenes AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedicto Badal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelino Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Badal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Paulín Barrasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastián Aboitiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Benedicto Badal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cauquenes AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedicto Badal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelino Mata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benedicto Badal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. The Fear Boner's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
