Pedro Manuel Arellano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Pena in the 4th minute of play. Club Deportes Temuco's Próspero Ruedi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Mazeira in the 7th minute of play. Próspero Ruedi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Mazeira in the 15th minute of the match. Jeremías Almi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Próspero Ruedi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Jeremías Almi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jeremías Almi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes Club Deportes Temuco got a freekick which was hit by Caupolicán Quiero. With a little luck, Club Deportes Temuco's Próspero Ruedi got control of the ball when Jeremías Almi tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Club Deportes Temuco getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Blanco Deramond hit a great ball. If Jeremías Almi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the last second Próspero Ruedi throw himself and got hold of the ball when Roger Mazeira in the 45thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeremías Almi got free with Próspero Ruedi in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aldo Pena's late challenge caught a Los Pencas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aldo Pena helped the player get up and apologised. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Mazeira in the 52nd minute of play forced Club Deportes Temuco's goalkeeper Próspero Ruedi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Los Pencas's Roger Mazeira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Próspero Ruedi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Blanco Deramond struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Pedro Manuel Arellano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportes Temuco. In the 70th minute Roger Mazeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Próspero Ruedi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blanco Deramond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Quijada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Pencas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportes Temuco the free kick. If Blanco Deramond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremías Almi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Próspero Ruedi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roger Mazeira's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. 97 minutes into the game, Alarico Arjona recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Manuel Arellano. Alarico Arjona showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Los Pencas were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
