In the 12th minute, Ismael Calvo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Tamariz Desmadryl fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportes Puerto Montt's protests and gave Tamariz Desmadryl a yellow card for diving instead. Tamariz Desmadryl kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Roland Vivanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Manquegua AFC's goalkeeper Ubaldo Matildo Cruchaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tamariz Desmadryl. Juan Antonio Mackenzie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Calvo in the 21st minute of the match. If Ismael Calvo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportes Puerto Montt made a substitution. Cerilo Menarte replaced Juan Luis Chadwick. In the 25th minute, Eder Palacios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubaldo Matildo Cruchaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Poveda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amedeo Polo hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Deportes Puerto Montt's Juan Antonio Mackenzie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelado Falleto in the 36th minute of play. Manquegua AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Amedeo Polo scored to the left of an out of position Ubaldo Matildo Cruchaga, making the score, 1-0. Ubaldo Matildo Cruchaga made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Tamariz Desmadryl sent off a good shot on target. Roland Vivanco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiliano Poveda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roland Vivanco to strike the kick off in the second half. Abelado Falleto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Isidro Ardura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Deportes Puerto Montt fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Deportes Puerto Montt's Roland Vivanco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ismael Calvo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deportes Puerto Montt's Roland Vivanco got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Manquegua AFC's zone, Emiliano Poveda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Matildo Cruchaga came out of the goal and Emiliano Poveda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remi Vergara's late challenge caught a Deportes Puerto Montt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remi Vergara helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Manquegua AFC's Remi Vergara got a free kick in the 89th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Deportes Puerto Montt fully deserved thier win.
