Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Val Piñeiro started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 6 minutes into the game, Brandipalca's Milián Canío nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Héctor Barriga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Brandipalca's zone, Raimundo Oxman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loreno Parodi came out of the goal and Raimundo Oxman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Rancagua booed when Brandipalca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Cancino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Raimundo Oxman reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Loreno Parodi. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 18th minute, Romelio Helo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 19 minutes, Val Piñeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brandipalca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Val Piñeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Val Piñeiro took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Héctor Barriga. Héctor Barriga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Héctor Barriga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Val Piñeiro in the 26th minute of play. Brandipalca's Loreno Parodi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urtsín Bolton in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute Urtsín Bolton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loreno Parodi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Patricio Manquilef hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundo Oxman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Loreno Parodi having to make a save. Val Piñeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the game, Val Piñeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brandipalca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rancagua the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brandipalca's Val Piñeiro got a free kick in the 40th minute. If Val Piñeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rancagua players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brandipalca were winning 1-2.

With 53 minutes on the clock, Yeray Ward commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brandipalca! Brandipalca's Patricio Manquilef got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Milián Canío took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Héctor Barriga to make any attempt to save it. After 64 played minutes Brandipalca got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Cavareda. Raimundo Oxman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 75 minutes into the match, Brandipalca's goal looked a bit too open when Urtsín Bolton came free, but Loreno Parodi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alesandro Idoate kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Raimundo Oxman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Loreno Parodi having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Raimundo Oxman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loreno Parodi was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. A collision led to Brandipalca getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Milián Canío hit a great ball. The Brandipalca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brandipalca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
