The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 played minutes Vilupulli FC got a freekick which was hit by Guido Mauad. The supporters of Marimenuco FC booed when Vilupulli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xaime Doebbel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Xaime Doebbel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vilupulli FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xaime Doebbel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Marimenuco FC's Ferrando Adasme slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jordi Espina. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Telmo Teran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xaime Doebbel in the 21st minute of the match. Xaime Doebbel took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Telmo Teran. Telmo Teran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jordi Espina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferrando Adasme's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 30th match minute, Vilupulli FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celedonio Soto Tapia to maneuver through the defense. Vilupulli FC's Jordi Espina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Vilupulli FC from getting a goal against them. It was joyful for the audience to see Francisco Javier Encina dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 34th played minute and put the ball into the net. 2-1. If Xaime Doebbel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferrando Adasme was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Marimenuco FC's goalkeeper Telmo Teran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guido Mauad. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilupulli FC's goalkeeper Jordi Espina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xavián Ruz hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Gregorio Martin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jordi Espina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferrando Adasme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79thth minute of the game Ferrando Adasme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vilupulli FC's Jordi Espina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ferrando Adasme came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Marimenuco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferrando Adasme couldn't finish the play. Vilupulli FC's Jordi Espina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferrando Adasme in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xaime Doebbel in the 94th minute of play forced Marimenuco FC's goalkeeper Telmo Teran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nacho Mellado was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 98 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 97th minute of the game. One of Vilupulli FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Marimenuco FC:s goal. The referee gave Marimenuco FC a penalty, 100 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Francisco Javier Encina, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vilupulli FC's Jordi Espina. 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Marimenuco FC had won after a very even match.
