Mandoneados FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Quique Maillard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Xosé Errázuriz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Mandoneados FC's Alcides Fanta. Alcides Fanta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Mandoneados FC's zone, Cresenciano Rioseco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alcides Fanta came out of the goal and Cresenciano Rioseco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alcides Fanta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xosé Errázuriz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mandoneados FC's goalkeeper Alcides Fanta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mandoneados FC's zone, Quique Maillard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alcides Fanta came out of the goal and Quique Maillard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Quique Maillard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ancud's supporters rose to their feet, but Quique Maillard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alcides Fanta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute Xosé Errázuriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alcides Fanta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ancud's Quique Maillard got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Quique Maillard came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Ancud fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quique Maillard couldn't finish the play. After the first half Ancud were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco José Romero to make the kick off. The supporters of Ancud booed when Mandoneados FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Armijo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alcides Fanta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Quique Maillard in the 56th minute. Francisco José Romero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Desiderio Anastassiou having to make a save. In the 78th minute, one of Mandoneados FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mandoneados FC. When the match had been going on for 79 minutes, Ancud's Genaro Mosquera got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alcides Fanta. The supporters of Mandoneados FC booed when Ancud was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quique Maillard didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mandoneados FC's Francisco José Romero in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
