After a rather tough play, Marchan's Vincente Mesina got a free kick in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincente Mesina in the 6th minute of play forced Alona FC's goalkeeper Luis María Morillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Marchan getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Vincente Mesina hit a great ball. Leovigildo Schmauk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celedonio Mouat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Alona FC got a freekick which was hit by Urtsín Peso. If Natanael Bolados had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 minutes, Urtsín Peso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alona FC and the Marchan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celedonio Mouat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Ignacio Magdahl in the 35th minute of the match. Celedonio Mouat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leovigildo Schmauk in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Alona FC's José Ignacio Magdahl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celedonio Mouat made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Ignacio Magdahl made a kick off. After 51 played minutes José Ignacio Magdahl shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Marchan's Celedonio Mouat to catch but José Ignacio Magdahl was lucky. It became 1-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. A hard shot 61 in the game by Leovigildo Schmauk from a close distance when the talented Celedonio Mouat managed to make a qualified save. Marchan's players were relieved. With a little luck, Marchan's Celedonio Mouat got control of the ball when Leovigildo Schmauk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Natanael Bolados received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Luis María Morillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Leovigildo Schmauk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Celedonio Mouat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Camilo Ronda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis María Morillo having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Alona FC got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Ossandon. It was beautiful to see Marchan's Abundio Huenul in action when he in the 78th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Leovigildo Schmauk might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celedonio Mouat. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leovigildo Schmauk ran back to his position shaking his head. If José Ignacio Magdahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luis María Morillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Bolados in the 95th minute of play.
