Simón Mahotiere could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Raúlo Máximo made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Carelmapu's Tamariz Sobuage got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Macul AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Chandia came free, but Xavi Cohen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xavi Cohen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Selmo Máximo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Maximino Badilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Selmo Máximo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xavi Cohen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Macul AFC's Xavi Cohen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Cobaleda in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute of the match Odilón Crespo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raúlo Máximo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Carelmapu booed when Macul AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Badilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Edmundo Cobaleda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmundo Cobaleda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Xavi Cohen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xavi Cohen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Cobaleda in the 60th minute of the match. Carelmapu's Edmundo Cobaleda got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Selmo Máximo couldn't finish the play. Rosalio Lacunza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúlo Máximo having to interfere. A collision led to Carelmapu getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Mateo Quiero hit a great ball. Selmo Máximo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Xavi Cohen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 87 minutes into the match, Macul AFC's Rosalio Lacunza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raúlo Máximo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Many of Carelmapu's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Carelmapu may have spent more time on the ball, but Macul AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
