Spectators: 7443 (Terracing: 5583, Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 148) 4 minutes into the match, PORONGO's goal looked a bit too open when Odilón Gundian came free, but Alirio Madaune reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 5 played minutes PORONGO got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Cattalán. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rollo Orozco during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, PORONGO's Rollo Orozco got a free kick in the 6th minute. Alirio Madaune showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danél Mandiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. When Celestino Zubicueta fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valparaiso's protests and gave Celestino Zubicueta a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Valparaiso fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, PORONGO's Hernán Eleysegui got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alexandre Adaro. Danél Mandiola took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alirio Madaune. Alirio Madaune dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. If Danél Mandiola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Odilón Gundian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Alirio Madaune tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Valparaiso's Danél Mandiola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alirio Madaune narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Valparaiso booed when PORONGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleazar Martinich didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Valparaiso were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Odilón Gundian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PORONGO's Alirio Madaune was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alirio Madaune took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odilón Gundian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the game, Valparaiso's Odilón Gundian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alirio Madaune made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. PORONGO's Rollo Orozco got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Feliberto Cattalán was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. A collision led to PORONGO getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Feliberto Cattalán hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Danél Mandiola fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alirio Madaune, passed just outside the right post. 80 minutes into the game, one of PORONGO:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Alirio Madaune made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danél Mandiola in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odilón Gundian in the 84th minute of play forced PORONGO's goalkeeper Alirio Madaune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Odilón Gundian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danél Mandiolas short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Alirio Madaune to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Danél Mandiola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felipo Peacock took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alirio Madaune. Alirio Madaune dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Valparaiso played a much better game than PORONGO and deserved their victory. The PORONGO players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
