The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amadeo Quirch to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexandro Araneda hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Macul's Eleuterio Marull broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salbatore Santa María in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evelio Rallo saved Cobreloa from getting behind. Macul's Mannuel Ceballos got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Salbatore Santa María came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Macul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salbatore Santa María couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes in the game, Salbatore Santa María fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Evelio Rallo having to interfere.
