Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Xabel Sepúlveda kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Quilquen's zone, Teofilo Larreta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Velasco Godarte came out of the goal and Teofilo Larreta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quilquen's Velasco Godarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Quilquen from getting a goal against them. If Xabel Sepúlveda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sarracino Rebolledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pinone Vizcaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reces Duval struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Sarracino Rebolledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quilquen. Reces Duval sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Savier Pedraza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Santiago FC's Teofilo Larreta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 40th minute, Celestino Suarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st minute, Pinone Vizcaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Santiago FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reces Duval came free, but Sarracino Rebolledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 50th minute Quilquen were awarded a corner. Luis Javier Victoriano went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Luis Javier Victoriano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sarracino Rebolledo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teofilo Larreta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Velasco Godarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Savier Pedraza in the 55th minute of the match. Velasco Godarte came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Santiago FC's Savier Pedraza. But to his dismay, Savier Pedraza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 59th minute, Teofilo Larreta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 61 minutes, Xabel Sepúlveda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quilquen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xabel Sepúlveda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santiago FC's Sarracino Rebolledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Santiago FC from getting a goal against them. Savier Pedraza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Velasco Godarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teofilo Larreta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Velasco Godarte having to interfere. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 93rd minute, but Sarracino Rebolledo got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Santiago FC hanging dry this time. Xabel Sepúlveda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quilquen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
