Quetro's Amato Pellegrini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bayron Sojo in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Camilo Andrea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quetro's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Andrea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorino Mahns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amato Pellegrini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bayron Sojo in the 44th minute of the match. Bayron Sojo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bayron Sojo to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Quetro's zone, Juan Ignacio Peirano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amato Pellegrini came out of the goal and Juan Ignacio Peirano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th match minute, DEPORTIVO CALI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilesindo De Ferari to maneuver through the defense. When Bayron Sojo came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the DEPORTIVO CALI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bayron Sojo couldn't finish the play. Amato Pellegrini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bayron Sojo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Ignacio Peirano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amato Pellegrini having to interfere. Bayron Sojo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victorino Mahns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Andrea, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the match was over DEPORTIVO CALI could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Quetro throughout the match.
