Ambrosio Marshall made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Josué Siengelo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ambrosio Marshall. Quillayes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Josué Siengelo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Washington Moltedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sergi Diena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Illapel's Josué Siengelo got a free kick in the 29th minute. Josué Siengelo's late challenge caught a Quillayes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josué Siengelo helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Illapel got a freekick which was hit by Josué Siengelo. Sergi Diena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermenegildo Elizondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Sergi Diena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Washington Moltedo in the 37th minute. Washington Moltedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergi Diena having to interfere. Ambrosio Marshall didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vasco Gallardo went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Quique Schnaidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Illapel's supporters rose to their feet, but Quique Schnaidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ambrosio Marshall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Quique Schnaidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vasco Gallardo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quillayes's goalkeeper Ambrosio Marshall, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasco Gallardo in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ambrosio Marshall saved Quillayes from getting behind. If Hermenegildo Elizondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermenegildo Elizondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermenegildo Elizondo in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergi Diena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the match, Illapel's goal looked a bit too open when Geofredo Socias came free, but Sergi Diena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasco Gallardo in the 82nd minute of play forced Quillayes's goalkeeper Ambrosio Marshall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Quique Schnaidt could shoot a difficult shot in the 86th minute, which Ambrosio Marshall however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quique Schnaidt got free with Ambrosio Marshall in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Washington Moltedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Sergi Diena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Illapel's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
