The audience was convinced that Arturo Ward's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tor Maldini was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Humberto Huelqui successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Damián Andonaegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Huelqui having to interfere. After 38 played minutes, Colorado AFC's Edgardo Vivar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Humberto Huelqui came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Colorado AFC reached it. Antonio Labarca kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Cogollín FC's Arturo Ward nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tor Maldini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time.
