Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ernesto Desmadryl hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Mauro Camilo fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apeche's protests and gave Mauro Camilo a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Apeche got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Camilo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Bonilla in the 21st minute of play forced Apeche's goalkeeper Eber Araus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Apeche booed when Chaparano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eulalio Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adelmo Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juan Raúl Campusano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Valentino Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eber Araus was a little too slow when Marcel Bonilla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 1-0. Ernesto Desmadryl charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Desmadryl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ernesto Desmadryl hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Valentino Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelmo Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardo Murdoch in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eber Araus saved Apeche from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Raúl Campusano was the one to do the kick off. Chaparano's Valentino Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Chaparano from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Juan Raúl Campusano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Apeche's Eber Araus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Murdoch in the 68th minute of play. With a little luck, Chaparano's Valentino Aguiar got control of the ball when Adelmo Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Jose Miguel Mellado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Bonilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chaparano's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
