In the 23rd minute, Vladimiro Martiarena reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabián Nancupel. The goal made the score 1-1. Vladimiro Martiarena might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabián Nancupel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladimiro Martiarena ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th match minute, Guancamala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Marrodan to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Jaime Basualdo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabián Nancupel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Germán Catrileo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Xulián Fuenzalida notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Guancamala's Fabián Nancupel. Fabián Nancupel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 39 minutes, Severino Languard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Rateros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Languard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eric Lukey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabián Nancupel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germán Catrileo in the 45th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Los Rateros's Fabián Nancupel threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vladimiro Martiarena, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fabián Nancupel was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Vladimiro Martiarena capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vladimiro Martiarena really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vladimiro Martiarena to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Germán Catrileo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Rateros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Germán Catrileo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 70 minutes, Juan Cristóbal Cervantes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guancamala and the Los Rateros players grew even worse after the yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, Los Rateros's Germán Catrileo tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fabián Nancupel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germán Catrileo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Languard in the 78th minute of play forced Guancamala's goalkeeper Fabián Nancupel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Los Rateros booed when Guancamala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Marrodan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd match minute, Los Rateros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germán Catrileo to maneuver through the defense. Eric Lukey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Quiroga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 minutes, Germán Catrileo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Rateros and the Guancamala players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th minute, Germán Catrileo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victorio Marrodan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Quiroga having to interfere. When Victorio Marrodan came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Guancamala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victorio Marrodan couldn't finish the play. Vladimiro Martiarena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabián Nancupel having to interfere. Los Rateros were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Guancamala for a fine match.
