In the 12th minute Maurilio Lezaeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Rateros's Xulián Fuenzalida got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Arauco's Jonatan Jaraquemada got a free kick in the 16th minute. The Los Rateros fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Los Rateros's Vladimiro Martiarena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Los Rateros getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Eustacio Acevedo hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, Arauco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rufino Lepe to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Arauco defense, Vladimiro Martiarena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eder Bear. The Arauco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eder Bear should have stopped the shot. After 30 minutes of play, Arauco's Maurilio Lezaeta made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victor Quiroga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Severino Languard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Eder Bear tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Vladimiro Martiarena fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Eder Bear, passed just outside the right post. 39 minutes into the game, Eric Vallejo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arauco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Rateros the free kick. Eric Vallejo kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Arauco's zone, Ceandro Urbistondo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eder Bear came out of the goal and Ceandro Urbistondo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vladimiro Martiarena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eder Bear having to interfere. Eder Bear showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ceandro Urbistondo in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eric Vallejo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Arauco's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Languard came free, but Eder Bear reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Los Rateros booed when Arauco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonatan Jaraquemada didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Arauco's Victor Quiroga threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eric Vallejo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 62nd minute, Vladimiro Martiarena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Rateros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Vladimiro Martiarena struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Eder Bear didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Rateros. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Ceandro Urbistondo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Rateros's supporters rose to their feet, but Ceandro Urbistondo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eder Bear breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 74 minutes into the game, Severino Languard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Eder Bear was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eder Bear took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Languard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimiro Martiarena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eder Bear having to interfere. After having played for 87 minutes, Rufino Lepe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arauco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rufino Lepe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
