The audience thought a goal was coming when Andoni Bustunzuria got free with Nial Blakewell in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Huilqueco's Andoni Bustunzuria got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Francisco Alberto Llano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máximo Antúnez in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Archibaldo Maffioletti in the 24th minute of play forced Union Latino Americana FC's goalkeeper Nial Blakewell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Archibaldo Maffioletti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huilqueco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Archibaldo Maffioletti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 89 minutes, Valerio Hormann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huilqueco and the Union Latino Americana FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Huilqueco's Valerio Hormann got a free kick in the 89th minute. 91 minutes in the game Romualdo Santana-Bauzá after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Francisco Alberto Llano. A very good opportunity. 96 minutes into the match, Máximo Antúnez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Alberto Llano. Huilqueco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Máximo Antúnez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. When the match was over Union Latino Americana FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Huilqueco throughout the match.
