Glorias de Maipú FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espino FC the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Glorias de Maipú FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Manzor to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th match minute, Glorias de Maipú FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Angel Astigueta to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes Espino FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Miguel Magasich. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leoncio Trincado in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Pablo Reole prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Helmuth Refsbjerg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Juan Pablo Reole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leoncio Trincado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Pablo Reole having to interfere. After 31 minutes, Lucas Dutard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Glorias de Maipú FC and the Espino FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Glorias de Maipú FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Dutard to maneuver through the defense. After 32 played minutes Espino FC got a freekick which was hit by Mercurio Popelaire. Juan Pablo Reole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helmuth Refsbjerg in the 34th minute of play. Juan Pablo Reole came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Glorias de Maipú FC's Luis Angel Astigueta. But to his dismay, Luis Angel Astigueta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leoncio Trincado to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Glorias de Maipú FC's Leoncio Trincado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juan Pablo Reole. Juan Pablo Reole yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. In the 60th minute, Leoncio Trincado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulises Kunstmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Buche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leoncio Trincado received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juan Pablo Reole came out and tried to block the shot, but Leoncio Trincado slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 67th minute. A collision led to Glorias de Maipú FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Elivélton de Medeiros hit a great ball. The supporters of Espino FC booed when Glorias de Maipú FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Pereda didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Glorias de Maipú FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Leoncio Trincado hit a great ball. Ulises Kunstmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Buche in the 83rd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Espino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Angel Astigueta came free, but Juan Pablo Reole reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87thth minute of the game Mauro Buche who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glorias de Maipú FC's Ulises Kunstmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Glorias de Maipú FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! Ulises Kunstmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Buche in the 96th minute of play. The Glorias de Maipú FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Glorias de Maipú FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
