The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pinone Ibieta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lois Moscoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Poker Team's Lois Moscoso got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Lois Moscoso notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Campiche's Pinone Ibieta. Pinone Ibieta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 22 played minutes, Poker Team's Conrado Arredondo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pinone Ibieta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poker Team reached it. 26 minutes into the match, Campiche's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Baehr came free, but Pinone Ibieta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 28 minutes on the clock, Mario Manosalva commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 32 minutes, Xaime Clavijo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Campiche and the Poker Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Xaime Clavijo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Campiche's zone, Lois Moscoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pinone Ibieta came out of the goal and Lois Moscoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Noé Davagnino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Poker Team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Pinone Ibieta made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Lois Moscoso sent off a good shot on target. In the 54th minute, Abdul Gilberto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wojciech Cwynar was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After having played for 57 minutes, Lois Moscoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poker Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lois Moscoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Lois Moscoso notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Campiche's Pinone Ibieta. Pinone Ibieta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Lois Moscoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65th minute, Poker Team's Lois Moscoso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pinone Ibieta. Pinone Ibieta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. Pinone Ibieta was a little too slow when Lois Moscoso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 2-6. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Lois Moscoso put it in 2-7 from a short distance just to the right of Pinone Ibieta. Pinone Ibieta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lois Moscoso in the 79th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Lois Moscoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poker Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Lois Moscoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pinone Ibieta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Campiche's goalkeeper Pinone Ibieta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wojciech Cwynar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdul Gilberto in the 93rd minute of the match. Lois Moscoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Poker Team could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Campiche throughout the match.
