An unexpectedly hard shot by Velasco Minassian in the 5th minute of play forced Manquimiliu AFC's goalkeeper Javier Recasens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Saturnino Montesinos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingo Andreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Manquimiliu AFC booed when Guasquina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Recasens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Velasco Minassian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Velasco Minassian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Javier Recasens was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Manquimiliu AFC's zone, Velasco Minassian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Recasens came out of the goal and Velasco Minassian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florinio Calzada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Javier Recasens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Manquimiliu AFC's goalkeeper Javier Recasens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florinio Calzada. Ricart Canepa thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Javier Recasens, a very annoying self made goal in the 41st minute which led to 2-0. Saturnino Montesinos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Velasco Minassian made a kick off. Samuel Schulz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier Recasens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 played minutes Manquimiliu AFC got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Pérez. If Severo Trivelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domingo Andreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Montesinos in the 59th minute of play. Manquimiliu AFC's Javier Recasens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florinio Calzada in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Severo Trivelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Velasco Minassian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Recasens having to interfere. Severo Trivelli struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Domingo Andreu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manquimiliu AFC. Velasco Minassian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Javier Recasens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 played minutes Manquimiliu AFC got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Pérez. Manquimiliu AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
