Hornillos FC's Pierre Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasco Oruna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Marcos Francisco Alava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto Pizarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marciano Menart having to interfere. Nicanor Malicet kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Yeovill Town fc getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Aurelio Castex hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Yeovill Town fc's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Costa came free, but Marcos Francisco Alava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Yeovill Town fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Ramon Panussi to maneuver through the defense. If Vasco Oruna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Francisco Alava didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hornillos FC. After 37 played minutes Hornillos FC got a freekick which was hit by Pietro Isasiguia. 40 minutes into the match, Pierre Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Francisco Alava. Yeovill Town fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pierre Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicanor Malicet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jose Ramon Panussi charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Ramon Panussi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hornillos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Francisco Alava breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jose Ramon Panussi got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Eulalio Heiremans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hornillos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eulalio Heiremans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Francisco Alava breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Francisco Alava came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Hornillos FC's Pierre Costa. But to his dismay, Pierre Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Cristóbal Madina kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Vasco Oruna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Marcos Francisco Alava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto Pizarro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Marciano Menart skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Iván Luis Fouillioux kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Marcos Francisco Alava made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasco Oruna in the 85th minute of play. If Vasco Oruna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Pizarro scored 2-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marciano Menart, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
