After 12 played minutes JAIVAteam's Ernesto Soto Tapia stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Pol Martel stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Petorca of the goal. Giancarlo Zegarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Moroni having to interfere. After some careless play in the Petorca defense, Rogerio Abaitua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pol Martel. The Petorca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pol Martel should have stopped the shot. After having played for 25 minutes, Aristeo Cartagena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JAIVAteam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristeo Cartagena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 26 played minutes Petorca got a freekick which was hit by Omar Lyon. In the 27th minute, Rogerio Abaitua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pol Martel made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Ernesto Soto Tapia sent off a good shot on target. Petorca's Giancarlo Zegarra got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rogerio Abaitua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. JAIVAteam's Bruno Moroni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavi Zavaleta in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Xavi Zavaleta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pol Martel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogerio Abaitua's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rogerio Abaitua to make the kick off. If Rogerio Abaitua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rigoberto Cordero fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JAIVAteam's protests and gave Rigoberto Cordero a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Petorca booed when JAIVAteam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Soto Tapia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Pol Martel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rogerio Abaitua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Moroni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavi Zavaleta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th match minute, JAIVAteam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Cordero to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Honores took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bruno Moroni. JAIVAteam's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pol Martel came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by JAIVAteam's Ernesto Soto Tapia. But to his dismay, Ernesto Soto Tapia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When Hilario Federici fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petorca's protests and gave Hilario Federici a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Ernesto Soto Tapia managed to get in a good position for a shot. JAIVAteam's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Soto Tapia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pol Martel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Petorca players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for JAIVAteam.
