Mariano Gandarillas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Estebano Fett charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Estebano Fett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13thth minute of the game Archibaldo Larenas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chillaiza's Josué Burgoa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ángel Las Casas in the 14th minute of play forced Chillaiza's goalkeeper Josué Burgoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josué Burgoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Archibaldo Larenas, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Archibaldo Larenas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Archibaldo Larenas in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josué Burgoa saved Chillaiza from getting behind. A collision led to C.D Meseta Azul getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Álvaro Tenorio hit a great ball. In the 31st minute Elias Alico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Pinuer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Gandarillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josué Burgoa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Gandarillas's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Eduardo Mannhardt hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Archibaldo Larenas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Burgoa having to interfere. Josué Burgoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Archibaldo Larenas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Mariano Gandarillas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.D Meseta Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Gandarillas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 42 played minutes C.D Meseta Azul got a freekick which was hit by José Alberto Villaseñor. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Archibaldo Larenas was the one to do the kick off. Archibaldo Larenas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Josué Burgoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.D Meseta Azul's Archibaldo Larenas got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Chillaiza's zone, Mariano Gandarillas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Burgoa came out of the goal and Mariano Gandarillas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josué Burgoa made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Archibaldo Larenas sent off a good shot on target. Eleuterio Pinuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Alico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Estebano Fett got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Estebano Fett hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 68 minutes, Axel Estévez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.D Meseta Azul and the Chillaiza players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th match minute, C.D Meseta Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Estévez to maneuver through the defense. Mariano Gandarillas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Josué Burgoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josué Burgoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.D Meseta Azul. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Álvaro Tenorio during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Axel Estévez took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Josué Burgoa. Josué Burgoa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Despite being the better team, C.D Meseta Azul failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
