Caminalla's Marcel Moran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Neil in the 3rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Caminalla defense, Arnoldo Neil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Moran. The Caminalla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Moran should have stopped the shot. Normando Cartagena's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Marcel Moran skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Firmín Chamaca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tanio Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincente Davison in the 21st minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Caminalla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lander Scholtzl to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Arnoldo Neil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Moran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tanio Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincente Davison, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Barranquilla's goal looked a bit too open when Vincente Davison came free, but Tanio Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tanio Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincente Davison in the 36th minute of the match. Firmín Chamaca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tanio Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vincente Davison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Vincente Davison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Arnoldo Neil made the kick off in the second half. Caminalla's Vincente Davison got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Firmín Chamaca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tanio Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Barranquilla's Reces Imaz got a free kick in the 58th minute. Arnoldo Neil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcel Moran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play.
