Abelado Antúnez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Messia having to interfere. Benedicto Messia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Goncalves in the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hueilla AFC's Fabricio Aldea got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Abelado Antúnez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Abelado Antúnez came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cunco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelado Antúnez couldn't finish the play. Fernando Goncalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Messia having to interfere. Benedicto Messia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelado Antúnez in the 32nd minute of the match. Mikel Azoca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inocente Báez, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Norberto Medina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Mikel Azoca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mannuel Olarra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frances Alvar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eufemio Carter got free with Benedicto Messia in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Cunco defense, Norberto Medina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mikel Azoca. The Cunco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mikel Azoca should have stopped the shot. After 63 minutes, Cosme Montalva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cunco and the Hueilla AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Hueilla AFC a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ramón Von Bischhoffshausen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cunco's Mikel Azoca. 2-0. A hard shot by César Mac Gill from long distance, 71 minutes into the match, got Benedicto Messia's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Abelado Antúnez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute.
