In the 35th minute Jerardo Santa Ana suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 36 played minutes Tolar AFC got a freekick which was hit by Sebastiano Segarra. After a defensive mix-up in Algorta's zone, Anastasio Abeliuk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timeteo Gatica came out of the goal and Anastasio Abeliuk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Fermín Canepa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Julio Arlegui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute Anastasio Abeliuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timeteo Gatica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moncho Honores hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Vinos Doberti charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vinos Doberti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tolar AFC booed when Algorta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinos Doberti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Timeteo Gatica successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience was convinced that Anastasio Abeliuk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timeteo Gatica was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
