When Quim Mouat fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colo-Colo's protests and gave Quim Mouat a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Abuelo Luis Troncoso booed when Colo-Colo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quim Mouat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Márton Horváth lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Cristóbal Otarola in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Flavio Zunino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Félix Faverau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Paravic, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Félix Faverau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orlando Paravic went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 33 minutes, Iván Torrijo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colo-Colo and the Abuelo Luis Troncoso players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Iván Torrijo. 34 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Paravic came free, but Félix Faverau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Orlando Paravic cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Félix Faverau was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Quim Mouat sped through Abuelo Luis Troncoso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Flavio Zunino. In the 55th minute, Narcís Rossel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Ferdinand Hacke dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Félix Faverau, 1-4. After 59 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Dariusz Koprowski. In the 73rd minute, Iván Torrijo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Painevilu might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavio Zunino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Painevilu ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Abuelo Luis Troncoso's Juan Pedro Castillo got a free kick in the 77th minute. Lautaro Painevilu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Colo-Colo were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Abuelo Luis Troncoso's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Francisco Miguel Yete took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Francisco Miguel Yete got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Flavio Zunino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Flavio Zunino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quim Mouat in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Quim Mouat made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Zunino. Abuelo Luis Troncoso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Abuelo Luis Troncoso's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
