After a defensive mix-up in Quinicabe FC's zone, Xamín Chacon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeo Aguiar came out of the goal and Xamín Chacon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Fachinal FC booed when Quinicabe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviano Rivas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fachinal FC's goalkeeper Joel Subercaseaux, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias Urra scored 1-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romeo Aguiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If José Marcelo Grez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 played minutes Quinicabe FC got a freekick which was hit by Ferrando Warnes. 30 minutes into the game, one of Quinicabe FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Regino Le Fort shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Joel Subercaseaux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Marcelo Grez, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Elias Urra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fachinal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Urra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeo Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Javier Marasso charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Quinicabe FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 66th minute, Pinone Amezquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Urra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Aguiar having to interfere. A collision led to Quinicabe FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Anacleto Gamarra hit a great ball. A hard shot 78 in the game by Batista Bassenge from a close distance when the talented Joel Subercaseaux managed to make a qualified save. Fachinal FC's players were relieved. 81 minutes into the match, Quinicabe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Xamín Chacon came free, but Romeo Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Xamín Chacon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fachinal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xamín Chacon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Urra struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Romeo Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fachinal FC. When José Javier Marasso came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Fachinal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Javier Marasso couldn't finish the play. Fachinal FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
